I'm glad the manga cleared one thing up the anime left unclear: whether or not Zero Two knew Hiro was her darling from the past from the beginning of the series or not. In the anime, it was ambiguous, since there was evidence for both positions. Though, to me, it really did seem like the show was implying that she did know, but that just didn't make sense with the rest of her actions, so I'm glad the manga has made it clear that in its canon, she definitely didn't know. It works better and is more tragic.
