Darwin's Game - Vol. 14 Ch. 55

Those stun gun shoes are really cool, also that Megane at the end was pretty hot.

Man, I love how much shop Kaname is kicking in this arc. One of the biggest problems in shounen is that sometimes they forget to take a step back and show how much they've developed. It's a rather crucial step on the Hero's Journey I'd say.

Well, for one Inukai, Kaname is more prone of using his intellect than you are :p.
And two, Kaname basically had experienced his so-called "Turning Point", which i believe is when his close friend who is a non-player was murdered by the Eight Clan, while you hasn't. Heck, this shameful defeat and banishment from your clan could be very well your very own Turning Point, or at least the trigger for it.

Did we really need confirmation that the MC was able to take on and even surpassed a guy who's done martial arts for five years? He's been powerful for a while. Now it just seems boring.

Overheard in Danjou Boxing Club locker room afterwards:

“He got me,” Inukai said of Kaname's stun kick. "That f***ing Kaname boomed me."

Inukai added, “He’s so good,” repeating it four times.

Inukai then said he wanted to add Kaname to the list of fighters he's going to work with this summer.

tbh this fight was absolutely pointless, feels liek author was trying to state the obvious.... Feels liek a roundabout way to get a new guy to join the raven clan -_-

People are misunderstanding the fight. It wasn't just a fight to remind us of how big Kaname's dick is, but how Inukai got shafted into the background as the plot progressed. Inukai had this pretty big rival bro vibe early on, but as the series has escalated he hasn't done much except watch shit go on. This fight was a chance for him to do something for himself and learn not only what Kaname HAD, but what he Inukai was MISSING.

By the end of the fight, it was basically a clash of ideas and perspectives which boils down what Kaname said at the end, "What you were competing in was a D-Game. Not a martial arts match."

Hope the author goes further with this because a lot of the characters in Kaname's squad don't really have much personality aside from when they were first introduced. Some more glimpses into their pasts or chapters focused on them would be nice. Like I feel like the author's forgotten that Sui is supposed to be "harboring" her twins brother's soul inside her body. We also haven't really gotten much info about Shuka's family situation since she's pretty fucking rich and that wasn't even a result of converting D-Points.

@Bengon yeahh, people see a fight scene and only see a fight scene, forgeting that it was obvious that Inukai was going to lose, therefore the author must had some kind of agenda behind that scene. And if people thought just a little bit about that they would see it as the famous martial arts cliche of talking with the fists.

This fight wasnt about Kaname, but about Inukai who couldn't accept the fact that this newbie who he could crush and chose not to, just a few months ago, somehow became the leader of the top notch clan in the game, winning 2 events so far, someone that Danjou-san, the man who Inukai sees as a role model, acknowledge him as a superior. Racionally he can understand that, but emotionally he cant, it's too much to grasp.
