Days - Vol. 29 Ch. 256 - Across the Wall

So the concept of giving a yellow card is completely alien now?
If a ref gives the free kick in that situation he would have to AT LEAST show the yellow card since the player literally is the last one before the goal and clearly preventing a goal chance through a foul.
At least the panel didn't even look like a free kick worthy scene, but if the ref decides it is a foul, a card should be given...

I know it is only a manga, but if I remember correctly there was a scene before a few chapters ago, where a card should have been given and now this...

wtf? no red card for foul on mizuki? author wtf men? do your research properly! This is pain to my eyes. ofc no yellow card for Seiseki player...

That guy touched the ball first so red card isn't even a possibility a yellow could have been given since he was the last player defending and coming from behind

@mungetsu212 Doesn't matter if he touched the ball first. Unless the rules on this have changed recently or are different in Japanese HS football, any last man fouls are a straight red. If the ref deems it a foul then the fact that he touched the ball first becomes inconsequential

There was a revision to the law but it is only applicable when the foul occurs in the box, since in that case the attacking team gets a penalty anyway so a red card on top of that was though to be too much. This is a last man foul outside the box when the GK has already been passed. Mizuki just needed to kick it into an empty goal so there's absolutely no way the defender doesn't get a red.

This just feels like a contrived way to make this match more 'equal', when Seiseki should be blowing Otowa out of the water after beating Ryouzan

Maybe it wasn't a foul, but if the referee blows his whistle then at that point he must give the red card, sometimes if the foul is doubtful he restrain himself to the yellow card but not punishing him at all in certain countries would cause the launch of molotov cocktails from the stands

Lol great action but the way the author draws situations sometimes because that looked from the angle drawn like great tackle.

WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT SHIT! LAST MAN TAKES DOWN MIZUKI AFTER HE PASSED THE KEEPER AND HE DOESN'T EVEN GET A CARD? doesn't matter that he got the ball whilst taking him down from behind. The pure fact that it was a foul in that situation makes it a clear cut straight red. That's TWICE. Que Pep meme.

aw maaaan. again with the no-card bullsh*t... a basic soccer rulebook seems to have no say in this manga :/

Once again, the author has no idea what the rules are in football. Defender was last man and he denied a goal scoring opportunity by fouling MIzuki. Should be a straight red card. Either follow read a rulebook or stop making stupid story decisions.

Cards do exist but only to be given to Seiseki. The Hokuto match is a prime example and that is an old one.

To those complaining about "last man, red card!" Pleast note FIFA changed that rule back in 2016. It's only an automatic red card if is determined the play is "violent" or a handball in the penalty area. If it's a legitimate play for the ball, it's just a yellow.(which still isn't issued in these instances)

Now I suppose it's possible that Japanese high school football doesn't follow FIFA rules? Otherwise, the author is right now to give a red card immediately, it should just be a yellow. No more triple punishments.
