I hate how I always come into these stories with expectations that the story clearly won't follow and get upset anyway.

I mean, if the prince cares about her more now because she's wearing a nicer dress and has glossier hair... then I don't think that would reflect well on him at all, nor would it seem to indicate they're in any way compatible in their interests...

(Those things would be amply important when selecting for a potential queen, mind. I'm just talking about the romance side, here.)

Honestly I think part of why I love this series is how wildly it veers away from tired The Other Women Are All RIVAL BITCHES tropes. I enjoy the drama sometimes but this shit.... wholesome.....

wait omg i love that the girls vibe with her in their own way :) like it's a nice diverge from the flat 2D villainnesses who are only there to make the mc better in comparison. not like those aren't entertaining, but this is an equally fun and very wholesome route, without completely making them ooc from their already given characteristics.
