I can provide some spoilers regarding the other princess candidates.
So when Rina figures out she likes Gilbert...
Gilbert... The bullying tactic is outdated and not a good look.
Also being a girl who loves getting dolled up for herself, I wanna say something to him. The proper way to present your insecurities to the girl you like is not to demean her for dressing up for others to see, if you have to do it you should tell her that she’s so pretty that you wanna keep her for yourself. I thought he was a dazzling prince... Why does he not know this?

All of them are like: Thank you for considering your friendship with us first. We support you guys. They essentially like Rina more than the prince ahaha yas.

Gil’s older brother is the more grown up type in how he carries himself. Gil’s going to throw a mini tantrum when he sees them together outta context. Oh and also Rina does the confessing part while Gil’s busy going like I’m so sorry you must hate me blah blah. He’s not the worst but was a bit disappointing.

She shipped Rina with the crown prince. Won’t go into it but she’s not an evil lady.
@OtomeAddict Maybe you can explain something because I must be misunderstanding something majorly. Gill is the son of the kings first wife who died and was the first prince originally. The now first prince is the son of the 2nd wife but is older than Gil. How is he older than Gil if he is the son of the 2nd wife? Or wait did the King have multiple wives at the same time and even if so how was Gil ever first prince at all? Also is there a 2nd prince or is that a reserved spot on the assumption the first prince will have a son as if I remember reading right he is already married. Though that seems to conflict with your last spoiler now I think about it.

Note that "crown prince" doesn't mean "first prince"; it actually means "(male) heir to the throne".
Here's how I understand it:

[li]The first two princes are from the second wife, and Gil is from the first wife.[/li]

The thing is, the first prince (in age) isn’t always birthed by the legal wife (queen). That is the case with the current crown prince, Gil’s first brother. The first prince’s mother wasn’t the queen at first and Gilbert’s mother had been the queen prior to her passing, so that’s why Gilbert was crown prince originally. It’s normal for the monarch to have many consorts.
When Gilbert’s mother died, the first prince’s mother became queen as she had the most influence out of the concubines and he became the new crown prince.
I don’t understand the raws that well since my Japanese is quite poor so I use a bit of mtl. The crown prince is married but with no child.
I’m reading from chapter 9 of the raws.
In part 9-1 ~ 9-2 the queen (1st prince Jerik’s mother) says rude stuff to Rina and somewhere in there she said something about birthing a baby, and Jerik steps in the ask her to stop.
In chapter 9-3 we see the queen say this: イエリクの側妃にお上がりなさい。 Which translates to “You should go become Jerik’s side consort.” I’m not confident in my Japanese but that specific sentence was very clear. I’m confident about that even without Google.

A chance once again to measure the queen's aura. I've worn glasses my whole life, all you need to do is slide them off and clean them and no one would be a bit suspicious.

I liked the premise of this story at first, but the last few chapters just completely turned me off.
Despite hoping maybe the prince would be a red harring(or end up as comic relief side filler) I already had an early inkling this wasn't the type of story to have such a twist; and seeing the spoilers (I'm not fussy about checking them) I was unfortunately right.
As someone mentioned before, the characters themselves are great by themselves, but I notice that their personalities are really made to be intense; Gilberts was especially turned up, but played out in a way that just made him unlikeable and even gross/disturbing to the point of extreme complaints in previous comments. (honestly I felt so uncomfortable, I nearly just clicked out, but wanted to give it a chance.)
I get it's probably(hopefully) meant to be a story focused on some type of trope, but it's just really not done well which is unfortunate.
I hope others can find this to be enjoyable, but I have to take a pass on this.
