It's quite romantic that he regain consciousness because a smell (the only part a zombie can use) he recognised. He recognised the smell of her hair on the foryday he met. He remembers the smell of flowers that grows on his grandmother's garden. He remembers the smell of his mother's cooking, etc etc. As long it's a memorable smell

This is quite a beautiful discovery. At first I was about to be against the possibility of romance but I take it back just for that. Bringing someone a nostalgic feeling, their once normalcy when they were humans, when their life was normal
