Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku - Vol. 8 Ch. 45 - A Disturbing Beginning

@altereggo
Yeah...it's pretty strange why we don't see Barondom also exist in the dictionary; when there's Kingdom, Dukedom, Marquisdom, Earldom, or even Fiefdom exists.

Alternatives to the above (which are being used in the English novels):
Duchy->Marquisate->County (Count is equivalent to Earl), and of course, Barony.

Speaking of the novels, taking this opportunity to rant about the official English light novels on noble rank peerage translations used:
- Using Count and County (more European) instead of Earl (more British), which really ought to be the British version considering most of Satou's traits has taken inspiration straight from the Arthurian legend (Holy sword Excalibur, Pendragon, Magician of Dining Table being a play on Knights of the round table...etc)
- Using "Hereditary Knight" instead of the proper Baronet (apparently skipping the WN's Chevalier rank), which pisses me off since Satou technically becomes a one-generation "Honorary Baronet" in the LN...thus, the official English LN's "Honorary Hereditary Knight" is an oxymoron when you consider Honorary is only one-gen, while Hereditary means to inherit or is inherited (passing from one generation to the next systematically like in a Knight family).
I personally think the translation should stick to Sousetsuka's chosen translation for the WN (excluding barondom, if it's really in fact, not a real word), as it doesn't have the flaws I pointed out in my rant.

Just finished reading the latest Vol of the LN in English so it was a treat to see the manga updated also thanks

Good, a new update, while the anime is so so and left lots of things and explanations out, the manga is much better.

A Hero's Sword is just a Butcher's knife for the Magician of Dining Table , and a battery to One who Creates Miracles .

Next chapter will have a Hayato(before he became Buff) 1 panel cameo with his catchphrase.

@altereggo @Harry_Dong

Concerning Barondom, It's really weird how this isn't a word, right? Especially considering the other examples that you listed off. I used it because Barony sounded weird for me, but I can switch to it for the next chapters to come if it bugs people.

@Reshi we just know that the baron's daughter gonna marry the hero in the near future, not that there's a marriage going on right at this moment.
for all we know, it might still a couple week in the future and the hero is still off grinding in some faraway place.

but who knows.

@Xx_Itz_Jamez_xX yes he does (click for specific)
He uses it at the end of the Labyrinth city arc to defeat the Dog Head daemon lord. But hasn't used it again since then.

Holy sword hydra steak batman!! 😆🤣🤣
Seriously dude that poor holy sword being reduced to a meat cleaver..

He has enough hydra meat to fill a large fortress, but doesn't spare any of that meat to the starving villagers who are prostituting themselves? This MC has lost a lot of respect in my eyes.

1. He has no idea if that's edible yet
2. He gave them wolf meat in exchange for this information.
3. He has literally zero uses for your respect to begin with.

I though he would take the loli. Their reasoning is pretty valid tbh, and shows that slavery shouldnt always be looked as something terrible/inhumane.

@ShionSinX
The reasoning is valid, but that doesn't make slavery any less inhumane.

Slavery is basically choosing the lesser of two evils, there, and it indeed is better than dying of starvation, but that doesn't make deprivation of liberty any better

@Shadourow on their world's social and cultural status it has a different conotation than it does for us. For them, slavery is nothing more than a full time job with guaranteed meals and a roof to live on, its better than starve to death, its something normal. Also fuck Earth's shitty dogma that some words carry, its a fictional piece of work.

@ShuibSinX Why do you think that it's any different there than on Earth ?

I see that in both cases, a slave is legally the property of its owner which can order, sell, or kill his slave as he wants (it still depends on local laws, obvioulsy)
The proof of that being that in all those isekai, we gets an easy scene to makes the hero looks good where he protect some slaves from being put to death. This manga being no exception

"You seem to collect lolis, so please buy my granddaughter. She is premium loli."
"Sorry, but I don't even know what to do with the lolis I have already."
