Delinquent recommends?

I like manga about delinquents but all of the ones I've been able to find have been comedies.or gag manga. Does anyone know a good one that takes the material deadly straight over comedic? I'd also prefer drama over action.

Gee whiz, if only there existed something like manga database where you could search titles by genres and community voted tags.

Though it isn't super accurate, cause for example Gaussian Blur got in the mix. That one's more about bullying.

Dokgo (and all shared universe properties), Holyland, Crows, Evil Heart, Aoi Haru, Apocalypse no Toride. I'd also heard good things about "Rokudenashi Blues", but apparently it isn't committed to being serious 100% of the time.

Out is pretty good, updates often, and is mainly serious though it does have its manga "that could never f*cking happen" moments. Holyland is probably the best for your conditions, drama based with some action and romance but mainly just a high school kid dealing with his life. It's also complete so no worries about updates. The Crows series is more comedy and action but it does have a bit of drama and if you haven't read it is still well worth the read.

Oh yeah, Rainbow's really good, even if it qualifies only technically (they start as post war period troubled youths).
