She appears to just always take it with her. She had it with her in the Burning Tent Case as well.

I dont know why but i feel that conan have a same pace. Aoyama-sensei make a story like you make believe that she's rum but in the end it isn't her. Just like Okiya subaru is bourbon but at the end it isn't, like jodie is BDO member but it isn't. And always there's 3 suspect about rum,bourbon, etc

RUMI'S BACKSTORY IS

I firmly believe Rumi is Asaca (the bodyguard), and kept the bishop piece as a memento of Haneda's death and a reminder to look for the culprits. Gosho has the pattern of having multiple red herrings, with one or two being good guys investigating the BO for their own reasons. Also, having Rum be Rumi would be a bit TOO on the nose for him.
