That's pretty damn ignorant to say considering how cutthroat the oversaturated manga industry is in Japan. Many of these mangaka have to survive by making doujinshi or ero doujin and doing anthologies like this is a good way to get their names out there and hopefully get official serializations. As someone who reads manga you should know how often good stories get axed simply because they are not popular enough. Not everyone gets to be Toriyama or Kishimoto.

Kubo makes more money than any of these artists but many people consider him to be shitty.

Hell, I was more invested and amused by this particular chapter than most other full-fledged original manga.

Also, a lot of mangaka do start out as doujin artists, and indeed many of them continue to do so even after having published works. What the hell they do with their time has nothing to do with how great or not-great they are.

So i just learn there are in fact 2 different Dolls Frontline Comic anthology series being published.
The one being translated here is from Dengeki Comics NEXT, while the other manga is from DNA Media Comics.

Dengeki Comics NEXT Volume 1 and Volume 2.

DNA Media Comics Volume 1 and Volume 2.
