There are full-eye contacts called scleral lenses that cover most of the exposed eyeball, they use them for people with severe dry eyes and stuff, or sometimes for movies or whatever. But yeah usually they're just for the pupils.

Pupils expand and contract with light, so making it "pupil" size actually means they have to (and do) cover your iris.

I haven't used them for years and am considering it again- or was until all this virus nonsense. But they were a complete pain to get in, nevermind the discomfort.
