Here in the west, Xmas is a religious holiday or a time for families. In Japan it’s considered a thing for couples (ironically analogous to how we might see Valentine’s Day, while in Japan V-day seems to have been warped into a thing for girls to confess to boys specifically rather than a day for couples)
