Dorei Shounin shika Sentakushi ga Nai desu yo? Harem? Nani Sore Oishii no? - Vol. 2 Ch. 9

Ah yes, the annoying childhood friends return. Make them your slaves MC! >_>

Here comes the: LETS RUIN YOU WITHOUT LISTENING! bit that will last too long and possibly end up with two more slaves since harem. At least one of them isn't obnoxious.

Let me take a guess. Despite appearing like they heard the whole conversation the 'freed' slaves had with the slave merchant protagonist, they will only selectively hear that he is such.
That, or the trope of, "Oh look, I see him over there, with two girls on his arms. Let's go cockblock say hi." And only caught the tail end.

I doubt it'll ever be explained out, though.

Now that is what I call a sudden jump in the story between the last chapter and this one.
A date out of nowhere...

It's bad when all of the harem appears suddenly together...It's even worse when your childhood friends discover you're a slave merchant...That's just a bad day, tbh.

Okay, here's why it's a bad idea to buy slaves and then free them, guys.

Businesses run off of profit and are incentivized by it. If a business notices something is economically doing well, it encourages more of that activity. Additionally, businesses expand as more and more profit is earned to keep itself afloat and to provide its service to more and more people. So buying slaves and then freeing them is a bad idea if you want to free slaves in the long term, because it not only increases the demand for slaves, therefore causing businesses to go out and catch more/breed more to increase the supply or causing the price of slaves to increase and meaning you can free less of them. Essentially, you're playing into the system you oppose for short-term gratification and it is not a viable long term strategy to end slavery as it will only perpetuate it as the slavers gain more and more profit. MC is a fucking dumbass, my dude.

@Tamerlane Slavery is literally a certain thing in their world. Some people are going to just be slave traders, with the vocation system they have. There's nothing to stop it, it just is. It's a shitty thing, but MC is doing the best of the shit.

@Tamerlane Yeah, but if the system is accepted by the whole world, wouldnt doing what they are doing but also nipping said bad actors in the butt by having the justice system be hardier to false acusations and sentencing said bad actors to slavery themselves fix it? It just seems that its too easy to succsesfuly accuse someone of wrongdoing even though its a magic world, but otherwise the system seems ok. (Note, RL slavery is wrong, this is just in the context of the imaginary world.)
