It's happening and it was actually quite straightforwards. It has been a fun 10+ years of on and off reading and it is finally wrapping up, fully translated.
Can't imagine being someone who picked it up all the way back at chapter 1 EIGHTEEN YEARS AGO. Wonder what kind of a publication history Doro ended up having over the years, a bit over one volume per year is quite damn slow pace afterall.

yeah I picked it up probably about a year ago and have forgotten a lot of the plot points can't imagine if someone read it from the start without rereading it several times. Been quite the ride. Probably went on a bit too long and could have been more concise but still it's been great.

@Madologist Heh, this made me realize I'd happily take "a bit over one volume per year" in a heartbeat for a lot of my favorite manga. And I'm not even talking about something as egregiously erratic as Berserk or HxH; some of my favorites had an abrupt and non-conclusive ending (Blame!) or went on what seems like an an indefinite hiatus (Bonfire NEET, Vagabond, The Breaker, and most of all Ultra Heaven...). Even something as straightforward as the Evangelion manga took 19 years for 14 volumes, which is absurd for something that had at least 90% of its story and dialogues written in 1995–1997.

Man, I won't lie and say I'm not bummed that it took so long for this whole thing to wrap up, but I'm sure I'll love this in a few years when I reread it. Convoluted though it may be, this will always have a special place in my heart.

If this manga finishes with Nikaido and lizard-faced Kaiman back in Hole, eating dumplings, I will be so happy I will cry. I love this manga and I love all these children. And I'm pretty happy Q Hayashida-sensei didn't rush the finish on this manga but had time to play it out the way it was meant to be.

Ending was rather anti-climatic (in the end some random girl saved the day, so basically a deus ex machina plot device was used) but it's still one of the best manga ever and most consistent at that. I've seen someone mention Hunter x Hunter or Berserk here but these manga turned to shit a long, long time ago while Dorohodero is great even now.
