Yep, in the manga stakes are low so far, readers know that even when someone has a really grave injury, genius Dr. Koto will save the day. Nothing bad will ever happen, everyone will be saved in the end.

Not saying he should've gone GoT route and depopulated the island, but a few lethal incidents here and there would make the manga less predictable.
