I was having trouble with that too? The best interpretation I can come up with is that she's attracted to him, but also she and the other two girls are aware that pursuing a relationship with him would probably be an ordeal given his personality. So they're all kinda distressed over it.

Even Laius seemed to think it was a bad outcome; he just wanted to make a friend, I'm not sure if he's ready for romance.

Those are the living armour. The armor originally are males, except for the one that wear lion head helmet and guarding the eggs.
He asked the mirror what if the monster's gender are swap.
