The mad sorceror figured out a way to keep the lion in check. By maintaining a single desire, the demon was not able to eat, feeding on the few scraps from adventurers out for riches. That gold and treasures are not being restocked is itself proof that the demon isnt able to lure as much as it wants to.

after kabbage dude mentioned his village utaya , the captain elf is perking / is twitching / is triggered , because now he knows kabbage is the adopted son of Milsril the gloomy ( or MILF the gloomy , lol ) , the one who saved his life ( in page 25 of this chapter 62 ) , so that is why he spared kabbage dude 's life after they fell down the big hole , and now he is fond of kabbage .

So I don't think the winged lion is the demon. Rather, it's the Mad Sorcerer's book, since it has the same eye design as the demon in the flashback. From chapter 55: https://mangadex.org/chapter/640130/20
Also a bit of a retcon? Chapter 55 implies Kabru and Misurn fell when Laius has went past the gate, but this chapter retcons so that Laius was still dealing with the shapeshifter.

yeah, I think this is the first time this manga made a legitimate mistake: the mistake doesn't cause a time paradox if you think of kabru returning and meeting the canaries in chapter 45 as when laius' group wondered through the snow, and then shapeshifter confusion (chapter 39~40), chapter 53~55 happened right after kabru's return so it's probably within one day or only a few days, so that's when izutsumi officially joined Laius' group and the nightmare happened(chapter 41~42). this chapter (chapter 62) happened at chapter 43 when laius' group took a bath.

I remember few volumes ago, forgot if it was on batoto or mangadex, there's people who said that this manga has running out of ideas and will be axed soon. Guess what, the story just expand to another places we never expected before, I doubt it will be completed in mere one or two years.
@BCS i don't understand why you can think that. There is a lot of way to narrates a story. Marcille being a user of ancient magic. There is a clue that explained that she is an expert in magic by text and a crazy researcher. In the first part, it explained that elves who does venture into dungeon is a weird one. And she explained that she is a prodigy back in her school. But got ignored because her personality. The later part explaining it in more detail. That shouldn't have to be complained anymore

It might be a translation mistake rather than anything else (like it didn't imply "meanwhile" being "at the same time") or it's intentional time leap without telling the readers that it's a time leap.
