Welp, that was really gross. I despise how the author makes this connection between being teased for liking a show aimed at younger children, and a literal pedophile who is sexually attracted to her niece. Like, I guess society "denies" both immaturity and pedophilia, but unlike immaturity, there are very good reasons society dislikes pedophilia. Children don't have fully developed brains, and thus can't consent. And based on the MC's comments I'm not sure she would get consent even if children were able to give it. I know MC is "resisting her desires" or whatever, but the fact that she is supportive of her niece visiting more, and is calling it a "win-win" instead of immediately cutting all ties, makes me really worried about this child.
