@gr8g this can definitely be good material for a tv series with a diverse cast in different settings..

But unlikely because the story pokes at many places, the Chinese government for example.

I don't know... I have read 12 chapters and I don't understand anything. There are many holes in story.

The first 60 chapters or so are marvellous, the characters, the world building, It was great. When the author introduced the cheap comedy moments the manga started to go downhill, all the ending arcs and the story after mana's rescue is like reading a retarded cheesy evangelion parody.
It's a really good read overall but you have to keep in mind that it is another manga whose mangaka couldn't come with a proper ending

Yep, read this years ago on a crazy whim. Seemed like it would bore tf out of me before I actually began reading. Can safely say it's a damn shame that completed, great stories like this, and Akumetsu are among the ones that never get picked for another medium like anime or film. One of the top 5 manga I ever read.

Just finished this like 10 mins ago and I'd definitely say without a doubt that this is definitely one of the best Manga I've ever read and is one of my favorites.

It's pretty hard keeping up with all the names and faces and stuff but that makes it more believeable imo. Overall great story, characters, art, fast paced scenes and world building. This prolly has the best racial and world representation I've ever seen in a Manga. It captures the real world perfectly.
Some of the parts the pacing was so fast and some other parts delves deep into philosophical real world concepts like religion, ethnic groups, power struggles, homosexuality etc that I had to go back a few pages and read again but it was fun nonetheless.

If you're in for the story. Then this is for you, this story is definitely not for people who just wanna see fights and stuff. It's very sophisticated but tries to be as simple as possible but it can get confusing so just be attentive when reading this.

I swear Kenji is the Levi Ackerman of this story but there are a bunch more badass characters tho😂

SPOILER.

The ending was pretty confusing at most but definitely gave me Evangelion vibes with the whole colloid thing. Basically the colloid and LCL are the same thing in the sense that it strives towards human instrumentality. Which are both super beings with the collective consciousness of billions of people.

I was really interested with the whole "new universe" concept but I guess we'll never know
T-T

This manga is a hidden gem

My dog died as I was finishing reading it and since the whole story was pretty depressing as a whole I wasn't looking forward to finishing it and adding on to my depression. However, all things considered I was genuinely happy with the ending and it actually pulled me out of my funk for a minute. The art is great, the characters are well fleshed out and feel like real people, and the action is gritty despite it being a manga. Definitely one of my top 5 reads dont sleep on this.
