Considering the Captain was the pilot of an Eden's something (was it Zero or One?), and found himself naturally to theirs, I wonder if he has some ability to shift between timelines. It seems like right now he is still stuck in the previous one.

This series had the balls to shoot its main character in the face, but the mass murdering psychopath who has sacrificed countless people for his own obsession with staying alive, so he can kill even more people, gets to live and get dragged away off-screen because something something FRIENDSHIP
