While we already know from the prologue that things will probably go smoothly, I have no idea how Shunrai is going to pretend she can do give birth with the emperor. (Either the emperor is revealed to be gay, which would be awesome. Or the emperor is revealed to be a girl in disguise, which would give the uncle an actual reason for giving Shuran the idea to switch places)

Actually, in history, these sort of things are usually such that the vast majority of the harem never actually spends time with the emperor at all. Gathering large groups of women was really more a status thing than carnal desire since being able to support all the wives/concubines was basically just them saying "Hey, I'm the riches there is and don't you all forget it".

......But than that be really boring manga so that probably won't happen
