Trails in the Sky rang a bell.

GOG has Trails in the Sky (1, SC, III) and Trails of Cold Steel (1, II) available, and I'd seen their listings.

Haven't purchased them, but have glanced at the descriptions.

Hadn't been aware it was the same setting. Good to know.

Cold Steel takes place a few years after Sky and there are two untranslated games that take place at the same time as Cold Steel. So they mention events and characters from the other games and as I have heard, there are even party members in Cold Steel 3 that were party members in Sky.
