@Scrabbleman Yeah this is why in any world people need to be taught to talk things through.

He was dense sure, but not pushing isn't a bad thing. Someone rejects you and its their business to correct that if they made a mistake.

This kind of stuff only happens when there is no follow up or proper conversation.

The only thing he needed to learn is how to reid people. That way he could have realized she was just embarrassed and not think she rejected him out of dislike.

TV/Manga etc conversations are always much too curt and never get resolved properly.

This is a really weird wish fulfilment story... Young kid you saved out of a whim grows up to be thicc and in love with you. Girl you had a crush on turns out to have a crush on you as well... But reincarnated as a girl? ...what?

It's not really intended to be a wish fulfillment story. One of the first things the author puts in the forward of the original version is that the MC's kind of stupid so she generally won't make the best decisions and there will sometimes be lasting consequences from it.
