We are way more controlled by our hormones, brain chemistry and wiring than you think. @mimisan what you are saying doesn't make sense. How would you explain gay people? They have the same biological makeup as their straight breatheren, the same hormones. It's imprinting during childhood that makes much of a difference and a fully development mind is already decided (which you refer to as wiring). Otherwise people on hormones like athletes that dope or people that transition, or anyone who develops and hormonal unbalance would just randomly switch their targets, which is not the case.
