Elqueeness - Ch. 45

what chapter is this in the novel

also isn't the earth spirit king with them so can't he just threaten him with power and shame mc is not like the earth spirt king so he could use water to drown them all .

Don't the followers of Elrien have anything to say regarding all the corruption in the kingdom? I'd imagine that in a world where gods are active, the god of 'curses and retribution' would be quite a huge deterrent to corrupt nobles doing whatever they want.

Am I the only one who thinks Isana isn't fit to rule? He's like a soft little baby, once he takes the throne there's no way he'll be able to do everything peacefully and by the books. He'll need someone to do his dirty work for him.

That's what I was thinking @cherokeemoo
I hope we get to see an arc that's just dedicated to the character development of Isana because boy does he need it if he wants to be King

@MannasBannas In stories like these, the only thing the boy needs to be a good king is irrational unconditional love to the commoners country. Put him on the throne and the country is magically saved.

We all know the Noble’s son is going to hit on El then get in trouble for lying to a noble or something like that, right?

El is planning Some pretty big stuff right now, helps that el is a god in all but name

The local lord is corrupt, greedy, frequents brothels, has freaking SLAVES, and has effectively take the Champagne mercs hostage. How could that shithead make himself more hated? And then he throws said mercs in prison. El now has more than enough reasons to murder that evil fucker. Isana is gonna have a rough road ahead of him, stained with ink, sweat, and blood. Preferably the blood of the corrupt and demonic. El, wreck their shit.

@GurenNoOu
The religion is still relatively new and starting to gain traction. Maybe when Isana becomes king he'll promote that religion to his citizens more

@Miyuki Even without there being many followers, a god is still a god. Earlier on in the series Elrien gives out judgement to a demon that his subordinates captured, which means he can interfere with the world, or at least interfere in regards to individuals who deserve retribution. I guess the only thing stopping him from enacting retribution on the corrupt nobles is plot convenience, since there needs to be some drama and a goal to overcome for the MC and his companions.

Should just summon up some high level water spirits and send them to the lords manor. Tell them to command the lord to release the mercenaries in the name of Elqueeness or be the last of their filthy bloodline. Feels like that would be an easy solution.

I've been wondering, since El is on a contract isn't his power limited as it's based on the capability/mana of Isana? Well, Isana has grown a lot and may come too who knows ... ?

@cheezybr3ad at the very least el has the annoying dragon contracted, also from what I remember, contracting a spirit king works a bit differently, you have to put in a crapton of upfront mana, but from then on, they can generally sustain themselves on their own mana, and even lend some to their contractor
