Judging from his reaction, Duke probably knows Viola somehow... maybe he met her when she was an actual child or something, idk. If it's following the usual trope, she's probably the one that inspired him to be empathetic to the Langue in the first place (that or it was someone else who was named, "Viola"—we'll see).
