Mariko-san's ears got changed from being round to pointy then vice versa in few pages. It seems like Billy Balibally-sensei was still deciding whether to make her a human or a vampire .

I wonder if vampire turning has a low success rate and that's why he doesn't turn his wife. I assume that's why he doesn't, because watching your wife and child age before you must be brutal, only losing them in death would be worse.

I feel like I've read a similar story before. The success rate was so low that the mc only attempted to turn his loved ones on their death beds.
