Looks like the missing ch4 is just midfight scene, so not of actual importance.
Now, there are so many loophole possibilities here with all the grail wishing nonsense that these characters have to be fools to think there are only one or two solutions.... And to top that off, they've got multiple grails to work with, plus some foreshadowing from way back that the final solution is gonna be mindnumbingly simple.
