Y’all idc if the father really cared about his daughter in the original. The only thing that even aludes to that is him giving a her a knife so she won’t have to go through torture, but from her perspective he never loved her. I don’t really like him yet, since from the POV of the MC he is very aloof and distant. Like dude, where was your love when your daughter visited you as a kid and you mentally scarred her for the rest of her life? I’m just hoping he gets better at expressing his love tbh. I GET the unreliable narrator approach where in turns out the father love the daughter all along BUT IN 18 YEARS THAT GOTTA SHOW SOMEHOW???

I love the doting dad trope just like any other person, but if he really did love her daughter so much he’d get regular reports about her wellbeing then he should also know when her daughter has been hurting so much she had to cling to a man to feel loved.

THAT SAID this still has all my fave tropes in it tho so yeah I’ll be following this religiously lol
