This is just from my wonky memory, so sorry if I am wrong. in the story that I read, the emperor was an okay person I guess. But the sister has the ambition to be emperor. She can't because she is a girl. So she wants to control the little brother. The way to control him is through poison. So her poison is making him easily angered and whacky mood so he became a tyrant. But this tyrant feels calm and good physically because of the poison perfume the sister wear. Thus he listens to her well cause she is his only source of comfort. So think of the poison like drugs, you feel good when you use it but after that, it will destroy your body

@MrFunplace what I remember is that he was a bad man already, even from his childhood there was something wrong with his head so he was already kinda dangerous, everything got worse because of the corrupt people around him. The sis was indeed devilish at some point but she used the perfume to control him, in part because yeah, she wanted more power, men, and things (haha) but also because she could have died without the perfume.

@AiriAi I see, so the emperor wasn't normal either. I didn't remember the story that well then lol. the sister could've died without the perfume? why? do you mean "because she is poisoned too" or "if she doesn't control the emperor, the corrupt people will persuade him to kill her"?
