@Solaz - presumably the mermaids aren't going to take too kindly to their rivers being cut off and would probably retaliate anyway. May as well take the fight to them first and be a bit cleaner with the engagement.

@Kampfarsch We've only seen all his companions together in the first chapter (and various little flashbacks) and they've all been on land.
She's a mermaid, so maybe she couldn't be there without a giant fish tank? Doesn't seem practical when adventuring so maybe she was only a part of the group when they where exploring the underwater mermaid kingdom or something.

@Kampfarsch Temporary party member then? I assume the tavern is connected to the lake somehow (there is a map showing the town is right next to the lake) or maybe she just has a wheelchair or pull wagon.

Another possibility is maybe she died before making it to the demon lord (like Lanuvel did). All I know is things will probably be explained in the coming chapters and this is all just bored speculation.
