I'm starting to think he might have misunderstood the behaviors and personalities of his old comrades and assumed that everything they did was negative. What if the elf was a tsundere and her violent side made him hate her or some sht. Maybe the princess was a yandere or some sht.

This is NOT a simulation. This is a test. The gods are playing a game with entire worlds. Nowhere was it stated that this world was not real or that anything was fake. He brought up the multiverse theory to make it easier to understand whats going on. They are simply using worlds that already exist to run tests. In fact given the infinite number of exact worlds he likely did not even "time travel" but did the more sensible thing and was moved to another copy of this world with his abilities reset. Effectively the same but more reasonable than time travel.

I love the negativity of this MC, I hope he just continues and gets darker. Anyway, from what we've seen, there's a very real possibility that this world *is* a simulation, and even if it's not, who cares? It's not his world and not his fight, so it's fine if he's angry and violent while trying to become free again. Chaotic/neutral evil all the way.
