Why are they so shocked about him getting a Xuan skill when they didn’t bat an eye at the di skill? Is the translation wrong and it should say that he got a di skill or a tian skill?
@Dem0n5 I guess it doesn’t effect the story that much, but it’s really hard to keep track of the ranking system, especially when they sometimes swap between the English and Japanese version. Things like this doesn’t help my understanding how peoples power level, it’s just confusing.
@Malte You're right. It doesn't affect the story, but the reading experience is most definitely undermined by the lack of clear universal foundations. They say "This is the ranking. Every rank is low, middle, high." Then they have a rank beat a higher rank so they should explain why again. Anyway, I'm over Chinese comics, especially this one. So many situations are either clear rank differences where he either wins cause he has more stars, or he has better buffs, or something stronger than him saves him. There's no strategy or suspense of any kind. This isn't the era of Dragon Ball. It's 2020. We need a little more story than "He trains a bunch and gets stronger then fights people weaker/stronger than him and wins depending on his stronger rank/buffs/allies." Even in the era of dragon ball they revealed that power levels were useless measures almost immediately after revealing that power levels existed.
