Im not into yaoi and like 50 percent of the manga on this site is yaoi. is there a way to filter that out? thanks

No, there is no filter currently. Yes, it is suggested and planned. It's our most requested feature by far. Please check the suggestions megathread before making a new thread. It's listed as "Blacklist unwanted genres"

Alternatively you can use the search page and just exclude yaoi
