Fire Force - Vol. 23 Ch. 204 - The Knight King's Family

Being around them must be like the insanity aura that we saw in Soul Eater, you'll lose yourself

I would call bull on the father being a prophet, but he is somehow completely correct. The whole family is so crazy that it loops around to being the most sane. LMFOA

It's like they're so stupid that Reality itself decided to give up.

It's like there is some higher power at work putting all this shit together, because of their master plan, but they don't really care about the process and the plot-holes.

Maybe it's God.

Maybe it's the just the author.

So now they throw old world plot twist into the mix. I'm guessing nuclear devastation was a cause or something from out space caused the cataclysm they spoke of and that flame powers are a mutation of some sort.

I feel the author stopped caring several arcs ago. This is blatant info-dumping, and he doesn't even try to give a reason for the characters to know any of it.

@Nobi not quite, is just that Arthur is a crazy character that works beyond logic and that was established from the very beginning, and there isn't anything we didn't know already, they're just saying all that to prove that the father is beyond logic too and that the faster they get out of there the better for their brains.

It's time

@Nobi Yeah, not really an infodump, we knew all this stuff already. It's just weird that the dad knows it all, and he doesn't give a reason why he knows, but that's kind of the point?

@MCX01 What do you mean, "now"? The "old world plot twist" was never a twist, it's a core part of the setting. The cataclysm destroying most of the old world is already something that we've known from pretty much the beginning, and we've known that it's from the vast majority of the Earth being set on fire and not at all from nukes, and we've more recently come to know that the fire powers and the infernals/fire people/demons/whatever and most likely the cataclysm itself have something to do with this crazy hell dimension and the Evangelist. The reveal that space ships used to exist doesn't somehow hint at anything being different than what we already knew. There used to be a whole bunch of animals too, before they all got set on fire along with everything else.

The only new information we learned this chapter is that Arthur's parents are kind of dicks, but I guess it's okay because his dad is just as insane as he is if not more so.
