The little “what do you think” and the end always makes me think. I hope it would be option B

As for the characters—
I'd imagine that the prince forgets himself—he doesn't know who he really is or that the "protection" that he offered that little girl wasn't the same as what he thinks it is, and that he is stuck in perpetual doubt. She's thinking not of the squishy boy who he replaced, but the angsty demon boy who learned love awkwardly and who cared for her—yet this silly demon prince doesn't know that. Heh.
