Food Court de, Mata Ashita. - Vol. 1 Ch. 4

That's too cute.

But, seriously, f*ck Gatcha games. They're just a predatory gambling service aiming for young people who don't have enough self-control yet disguised as games.

@Varler:

Some of the Pokemon remakes went so far as to remove the casino gameplay that featured in the original game. Some countries have even introduced legislation to ban what they see as gambling systems in videogames purchasable by people who are underage.

While I'm fine with being able to pay a few bucks for the chance to get a thing, I don't approve of systems where there's no definitive ratio of how many draws it'll take before you win. If you have an IRL box filled with slips, if you pull out every slip, your odds of winning every prize in the box are 100%. If you have computerized randomized gacha odds, there's no guarantee you'll ever win anything.

I think a great example of a game doing gacha right is the Yu-Gi-Oh mobile game. You roll for booster packs, and if you bought literally every booster pack, you'd get literally every card. Sure, you might have to buy down to that very last pack to get the UR and the SSR cards, but there are only so many packs that you can buy. You're not gambling on if you'll get something, you're gambling on how long until you get something.

tl:dr; fuck EA

The game centers in Pokemon got removed because the ESRB (or maybe PEGI, but it was someone like that) got mad about the gambling aspects and Gamefreak (or maybe Nintendo or the Pokemon Company) didn't want to put a higher age rating on the games more than because of anything predatory. The slot machines can go to hell, but I miss Voltorb Flip...

On one hand, never base your affection on the rolls, man!!!
On the other.... I totally know this feeling...

But man. What a pure expression of love to not give a damn about how much cash someones spent on their gatchas....

I seldom laugh out loud at comics, but this time I did on page 8. "Bag, please".
