Thanks for the chapter!
Claude's definitely devious. It's good she's getting experience by doing paperwork and stuff for the territory but she's letting the staff waylay her too easily. Even if can't get Donny to help out with the work directly could still try to indirectly get his aid by having him explain things like what to note, what to look for, etc. as a teacher explaining the hows and whys rather than have her sink or swim on her own. Wonder if maid trying to punish MC for week of laziness and starve some of the fat off?
Something seems off about the knight. While he does seem sincere and eager to please Claude must have told him something about her to make him willing to quit his job and protect her. Granted the stereotypical knight seeks honor and willing to sacrifice themselves for duty but they also like to earn achievements and glory along with acknowledgement from the masses which he could have gotten from his former position more than the current one. Also, even if he is really skilled if the point is assassinating her than could have four or five low to mid grade assassins keep him busy enough even if it's only by dying by his sword long enough for two or three others to kill her while he's busy. That or slip someone in the staff to poison her food at some point.
Wonder what King is thinking if refuses to allow annulment since neither party wants to go through with wedding? Then again this is around medieval time logic so wouldn't be surprising if expects to be obeyed because king and for the next generation to shut up and do as their told with no concern or thought given to their feelings like obedient emotionless puppets who are to give their all for their family and country.
