I think this drama has been a long time coming. Yohan has always felt inferior to Moogyeong and they've always been at odds with regards to their attitudes about their sexualities and their relationship. Yohan knows that it's childish to feel insecure but he can't help it so he's beating himself up over it. Meanwhile, Moogyeong has mad self-esteem issues so he never participates in the relationship with the long-term in mind, but as a result it's making them both miserable.
