I doubt I'm the first person to suggest this, but I couldn't find any existing post about it so I'm suggesting anyway.
Currently every forum post has a lot of white-space. At most I can get five replies on screen at once, even if every reply is only one line of text (100% site zoom, 1920:1080 monitor resolution).
A compact viewing mode to reduce the white-space between posts, put the user names in-line with the comment, and either hiding or majorly shrinking the user profile image, would drastically reduce the space taken up by a lot of posts.
The image in the spoiler demonstrates what I mean about white-space between comments.
Having more than 20 comments per page would also be nice for a compact view, but maybe that's something that should be suggested separately.
