Fukushuu wo Koinegau Saikyou Yuusha wa, Yami no Chikara de Senmetsu Musou Suru - Vol. 3 Ch. 20

And then you remember there is historical precedent for this in our world. The Killings at the Red Inn were only 200 years ago after all

Of course the whole village is filled with evil cannibals.

And the girls were so pure that, for a moment, I though they would be the monsters.

Okay, seriously. Are there ANY decent people in this world? Like at all?
Even the random villagers are rapist, murdering thieves.

@thegoatrider I don't think there was anything implying that they were rapists though, they didn't take their time killing the girls after all

I had honestly completely forgotten about this manga which made what happened have that much more impact

Instead of selling them as a slave or even meat material for certain families, they take their hairs as a wig and kill them?? That's a first time I ever read this kind of evil action

You could have sold the girls as slaves or prostituted them quite easily, what good does killing them accomplish? This is so stupid.

@Riger there was. they just all got killed as a result of these scum in human clothing. \

scummy bastards act like they normal people and that is the only way to survive. they look well off to me.

To be honest I was expecting rape and/or slavery not just straight-up murder and loot.

@LordGray

that would spread rumors and no mather how corrupt the kingdom might be, they wont be ok with a village of bandits as its bad for the kingdom as a whole.
Slavers would mabey work if it was legal, but the slaves would still talk about it unless forcibly prevented from doing so and if/when it got out nobody would ever get close out of fear.

To those, who postulate that there would be greater financial benefit from selling/prostituting/ransoming the girls instead of killing them - you're missing the Way Of Life point.
They are an insular group that targets outsiders by being peaceful and nice on face value. Hence if anyone would survive their misdeeds, word could spread out and they'd no longer be able to keep up appearances. It is a "leave no witnesses" policy - that is what is necessary to preserve the Way Of Life.

@Kizuro It was a thing. Used to be they'd cut the hair of mentals in asylums and sell it as wigs. Indian women were apparently popular for their smooth hair. It's no longer a practice, obviously.

This...there's actually quite a few stories of this happening across the entire world, in various cultures.

Stopping by a family, inn or village, where you get drugged and murdered or turned into food.

One variant I heard was that an inn only had one bed; if you were too short, the innkeeper would stretch out your limbs till you fit, if you were too tall, he'd cut you to size.

Another was that an inn (again yes) was famous for their meat buns that tasted of neither pork, nor poultry, nor beef, and usually had travelers and young women disappear in the area.
