wtf does that even mean having a pre-existing relationship its okay to date a minor? Its okay to date a minor if you were together when you were both minors? do they have some sort of age range constraint?
I think it also means that if both knew each other its fine, but not two complete strangers getting into it when one is minor. You know, there was at least some level of relationship, even if not 'affectionate'.
I believe in the United States that’s called a “Romeo and Juliet Law” or something along those lines. I only remember because there’s like a 10 minute tangent in Transformers 4 where a 21 guy uses it to excuse himself dating a 17 year old girl after Mark Wahlberg threatens to go to the cops over statutory rape charges.
In this situation, there wouldn’t be any risk of legal action because both individuals are over the age of legal consent at this point. Maybe there would be an investigation by authorities since she WAS a student of his just prior, but there doesn’t seem like any evidence to back up the accusation.
I believe there are special exceptions in place in just one district in Japan where the legal age of consent is like 14, and at least one state in the US where it is 12.
I don't know how it goes in Japan but in several other countries a teacher can't date a student just after after graduation. There's a set amount of time that needs to pass before that.
He's stuck on the moral and ethical ramifications of his relationship with her. Which while I find it noble. Instead of just pushing her away and cutting her off. He keeps leading her on. So.... fish or cut bait Yabe. It's not fair to her to keep her hoping she can have a relationship with you.
