Until Jojodad appeared I was worried he was heading for the Oyakodon route. That dad has the best design in the manga, his very presence is hillarious, and apparently his shading is contagious.
Also for some reason "D'ya like golf, lad?" gave me the same vibes as "Are ya winnin', son?"
