@Serenata She probably did reject him, certainly doesn't seem to now have a boyfriend. But you know, even if you don't know someone from Cthulhu and they don't make your heart go bumpity, it's still kind of a good feeling to realize someone thinks you're attractive enough and/or a good enough person they'd want to go out with you. @timesen It's a double standard. What they mean is, she's a bit of a loner, someone they think might be an appropriate person to bully, and if so she isn't entitled to the same basic human qualities and feelings everyone else is.
@timesen@nightcore34 and for everyone else not familiar with how girls bully each other: what they're really saying is she's totally not cute at all, but she had the audacity to think she was cute just because some boy asked her out. In their world view that's stepping out of line into territory reserved exclusively for them, not uncute girls who aren't popular.
Yes, it's stupid, but it can hurt really, really bad at that age and make it hard to develop your self-esteem.
