Gambling Outcast Kaiji: The 2.4 Billion Escape Arc - Kaiji Part 6 - Vol. 8 Ch. 321 - Befitting

Seriously, wtf Kaiji.

I can see Mario. Bad taste in suits, just another rich idiot.

Even Chang. Hard working, nice guy, got a lucky break - happens.

But this? And the contrived story too, way over the top. Bank people don't care about your lifestory. The only fitting explanation is that you are an eccentric.

Gotta give it go Kaiji though, that bit about hearing the other out before critizing was clever - if he hadn't done that, the others would've probably not swallowed his story. I think in the end, he just wants to wear something ridicolous.

This might be the funniest chapter in the whole part. Only way this could get better is if Teiai actually mistakes Mario for Kazuya somehow

I'm sure the bank will take the bother of hearing all of kaiji's backstory before calling the manager.

Kaiji has somewhat of a point, he's got some pretty bad scars all over his body in places that are hard to hide without looking suspicious. He can't quite as easily put on a suit and look decent, he'd look like a yakuza at best.

Well, the author did warn us at the start of this chapter that they have no idea what they're doing.

This arc has been full of great chapters. I remember everyone being skeptical of this arc at the beginning, especially since it's so different from any other arc, but it really developed its own voice. I never thought Kaiji would have a fashion chapter/subarc, but it somehow works.

Based on Mario's uncertainty, I'm guessing this will go poorly for Chang and Kaiji. Mario's usually shown to be the most naive member, and Chang seems to have adapted more to Kaiji's flow, but my guess is that the point will be that while Kaiji and Chang are better at insane gambling games, it has overridden their common sense and led them to created convoluted backstories for themselves, while Mario chooses the naive approach, which is better outside of convoluted gambles.

Chang and Kaiji stories are all fine and all but they run on the basis that they'll listen to them, if you force the story on someone its gonna look even more suspicious.
As for Mario, I think he lacks the confidence to play the role he wants to.
This is gonna be bad.
