Gambling Outcast Kaiji: The 2.4 Billion Escape Arc - Kaiji Part 6 - Vol. 9 Ch. 327 - Misconception

... is it the author or the translator who has absolutely no idea whatsoever how volume works?
.68 * .3 * .46 meters is 0.09384 cubic meters, not 938.4 cubic meters.

When taking cubic meters, you can't take cubic centimeters and divide by 100, you have to take cubic centimeters and divide by 100^3, which is a MILLION.

Jesus christ. I don't know who the moron is here, but whoever they are, please go back to fucking elementary school. Yes, even if it's you, Fukumoto, you magnificent bastard.

Edit: For reference, 938 cubic meters is literally bigger than the average studio apartment in Japan. There are no suitcases the size of a motherfucking apartment.

wow sometimes the author really does make both protagonists and antagonists conveniently stupid

@codetaku
I just took a look at the raw version of the latest Kaiji chapter, it said "93840 cubic centimeters" so yeah it was the translator who was mistaken.

Yeah, the translator slipped up in converting cubic centimeters to meters directly like that, it doesn't work like 100cm = 1m. Should be fine leaving it to 93840 cubic centimeters, instead of 0.09384 cubic meters.

Yeah, I wanted to post on the cubic meters myself. 900 cubic meters is for a cube of around 10 m x 10 m x 10 m. What a retard.

I actually love this. Endou isn't being stupid here, he's too clever for his own good! But now that Teai is alerted like this, idk how they can safely deposit the money... What's the next plan?

Welcome to another episode of "Kaiji does something stupid that somehow ends up helping him in a roundabout way"

Thanks, at least I don't have to lose faith in Fukumoto and his editor over this :p

I feel like the nicest conversion would be to liters. A liter is a cubic decimeter which is 1000 cubic centimeters. So they could've just said 93.84 liters and it would've been fine....

(for reference for others, this is around 24.7 gallons. It's still a big suitcase, just not a motherfucking apartment-sized suitcase)
