I think he's just sleep-deprived. People make worse decisions on getting consistently little sleep.

Given the second to last page, I'm guessing somebody's going to just recognize one of them on the way in or out eventually. This plan seems kind of weak- it just says that it's unlikely that somebody we'll recognize them on the way in, that it's unlikely that anybody in debt to Teiai would be on the second floor of the bank, but given anxious the debtors are for the money, they'll probably call Teiai after seeing someone for just a second. There are also probably people crazy enough to camp outside banks to find Kaiji and friends (as well as Teiai people), and the bank tellers will eventually learn about the Teiai bounty. I imagine that this chapter's just building up to something bad for Kaiji and friends.

As pointless as it feels this arc has truly created a total mystery about what’s gonna happen next
Kaiji has always been about betrayal when you think about it soooo maybe the three friends will be pitted against each other somehow

I am pretty sure they will get caught in the end. ANd we will have in the next arc the long awaited confrontation between Kaiji and Hyoudou. But I don't think it xill be throught betrayal but they will make a mistake at some point. That and some bad luck.

@Qliphort, although I didn't read a manga for while, waiting for more chapters to comes in. I'm pretty sure that at some point there will be betrayals. Don't forget that the real enemy of Kaiji is Hyoudou. From the beginning of the series, that was the case.
Just think about it. Would Hyoudou just let them run with th 2.4 billion. Perhaps he will hire some kind of money laundering professionals. At this point all is possible
