You know it's funny how easy you can ruin someone by just seeding a rumor. Sure, there is a risk that it gets found out and then it backlashes, but what if it doesn't?
Since it's so easy and anyone with the necessary intent can do it, what you need to do in return is full-proof yourself with a trust-worthy persona.

Needless to say Hyejin is exactly the person that doesn't have the image necessary to repel any kind of rumors. Someone like Eunha-unnie for example, would be pretty tough to any kind of negative rumors.

@FredFriendly Even though you said you dislike rumors, I find it strange how this sits well with you. Although I have times where I'm not a fan of Chu Hyejin, that doesn't mean she deserves false rumors to be spread about her and especially with THAT sunbae. I agree that Cha Haejun should try to move on from Chu Hyejin, but that's highly unlikely.

Huh? Not having any sympathy with Hyejin is not the same as approving of spreading rumors. And from the gossips point of view, the rumors are obviously not that difficult to believe, even if those gossips themselves do not like Sunbae-dickhead. In fact, that probably makes them believe the rumors even more, especially since it is undeniably true that Hyejin has been completely ignoring Haejun when they had previously been practically inseperable. And, of course, having gone on dates with Glasses-sunbae only adds fuel to the fire, giving the impression that Hyejin is the type of woman to lead men on.

What does sit well with me is seeing Hyejin feeling miserable, though I would much prefer that it would happen thru other circumstances, such as Haejun quitting school and moving away, never to talk to Hyejin again, or some chick confessing to him on the rebound and he accepts and they live happily ever after. Yeah, I know, I'm dreaming, but I don't like Hyejin and don't want to see her end up with Haejun after all the shit she's putting him through.

You know what fucks me over, it’s the fact that when people start slut-shaming girls for having interactions with a few guys, but if you flip it around, when guys flirt with plenty of girls they start calling him: “mr player, heart breaker, the man” we live in a society of misogyny. Did you even read the webtoon? What did she do to mislead any guy? The sunbae spreading rumors about her made her uncomfortable many times and she's expressed it on multiple occasions publicly and confidently to Unnie sunbae. Not once did she even flirt with him or with Cold/handsome sunbae. If anything she stood up for herself and Haejun by calling rumor sunbae out for his rude behavior towards his juniors. What consequences does she need to suffer when she didn't even do anything wrong? But I guess talking to your small group of friends, Unnie, and team member's in your group project warrants the idea that she needs to be responsible for misleading people and suffer the consequences.

@Amaya19 I think Fred is saying Hyejin deserves hell for hurting Haejun. But literally she didn't do anything except break up with him when they were 15? Even wanting to stay just friends, Haejun outwardly wanted that too until their last talk. She didn't realize she had feelings still until recently and she didn't plan to pursue a relationship because she's not able to cope with one currently. What exactly did she do that's so bad to Haejun?

No I understood what Fred was saying, but even then she apologized to Haejun and even told him it wasn't his fault when they were at the beach. Although when they were 15 she blamed him, but at the beach she realized it was her fault for getting swept up by all the other girls. But I agree, I felt like she didn't do anything bad to him. Rejecting him when she wants to be confident in herself and not have doubts in herself anymore shouldn't put all sorts of blame on her for hurting him.
