If this story goes the way it does in the LN, you may be in for a surprise. Guerilla warfare is surprisingly effective against a superior force that is hampered protecting the other side's civillians. The prince may be a total douche and not 100% all there in the head, but he does know how to fight dirty and this is just the beginning of this arc.
