GATE - Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri - Ch. 95

@KitsuVonKraft

Well, it depends on the fundamental laws and forces.

That is to say, if their world has higher dimensions or special forces that ours do not, then the distortion would show itself in a different way in our world.

Going back to the sheet of paper.
If we take the sheet and fold it in half, then one side would be touching itself (that is, in the inner part of the folder)

Now, to us, because we have 3 dimensions, we know that the sheet is just folded.

But to the 2D stick figure, depending on how this change expresses itself, it could be like the world got torn into two, then then those two sides merged themselves.
Two buildings on opposite ends of the world have suddenly merged into one, single weird mess.

Then if we unfolded the sheet, everything would un-merge and fix itself again.

That said in terms of the story, we haven't heard much from the human world. For all we know something might be happening.

well it safe to say that "god" is meddling with human bussiness, and such event triggered rapidly because of that, that Hardy's hair might be a catalyts for something else, I don't trust it

Damn... even if author is a hardcore jingoist, he's at least trying to provide plausible explanation for the events. We need more stuff like this.

The scientist said before that there were already distortions in our world.

It feels to me that the mangaka is cleverer than he is smart. Or smarter than he is clever, because that explanation was as not-good as an undergrad TA teaching an abstract physics lesson. The final message got through to the audience, but it felt like the proofs and supporting theories weren't clearly expressed or missing steps.
And I trust Uxtef's translations from years of watching him do stuff, so I don't think the JPN>ENG conversion is the problem.

I'm just waiting for the end; how many wives Youji brings back.

The empire and japan can fuck themselves

@Talh Add one more way/theory to how sleep magic work:

Leilei manipulate the Time Axis of the target (mind or body) to speed it up until the point of exhaustion, inciting the natural response of the body to sleep. Just like how 'decay' magic is portrayed in many stories. Of course, this raises the problem of how much she can advance the time of a person and if she can age someone enough to be physically visible, but I guess the more time you want to advance the more magic power you will need.

@fugig Yeah ... I mean I like science but did we really need several pages of fake cosmic theory related to the application of scientific prinicpals into magic phenomenon? Just saying that felt long winded.

It would have been fine to just cover the raw basics.

It honestly feels like they're just stretching it out at this point.

@fugig
I know exposition is annoying but this is a case where there is no way of specifying things without exposing them, to understand what is happening we need to read the characters say what they thing and their talk about it, there is a limit yes about how much you can convey with the show don't tell method and exposition is a valid way of making things clear.

What makes it annoying is that exposition is the easiest method to use when something needs explaining and with the years, the accumulation of knowledge and perception of the people this got really on the face and people started to hate exposition, but the thing isn't about not having any exposition it about using it well, even "show don't tell" can be a disaster if not handled well and this is a case where it was.

It is more perceptible in this chapter because this series is monthly so every chapter can be or not boring or exciting depending on the author, but i was fine with it i find fun here to see they discuss theories and we already had some action past chapter it balanced well.

Rory in all holiness on page 25, the girls are worried because they may lose their man and the jig is up for Lelei and her "weight" gain.
